This a small book, 5.5" X 7" on quality paper with a creative layout, fine fit and finish, great and illustrative photos but with computer screen graphics too small to read the fine print. Taylor presents a rather complete presentation of what RAW is all about and how to exploit its larger image data base. The balance between boiler plate (background information) and RAW specific information is about right. It is a substantive book that encourages and helps the reader get started on shooting and processing RAW and gives informed guidance on what to look for, what to do and what the outcomes should be.It is said that if you get one idea out of a book it's worth the price, time and effort. Got two: Now that I've read and marked up the book, I sense and agree with Taylor's unstated premise that RAW isn't really that complicated. If you know your camera and have a working knowledge of digital photography processing, go RAW. Second: "Expose to the right" when shooting RAW. (It's apparently all about noise.)Taylor does a good job here. It's a worthwhile read.
